You may not have noticed that our Language Translation Inc. blog contains three distinct streams, or channels: one about language translation and interpretation; another one dealing with medical language services, and, finally, a language and culture blog.

Our “Translation, Interpretation and Localization” blog highlights our main language service activities. Its posts often focus on the benefits of these services for companies, the use of technology in translation, or report on the importance of language interpretation in various fields.

Many posts are news-based. But I also come up with my own topics, or sometimes bounce off a subject that is of particular interest to me.

That’s the fun of blogging, isn’t it?

So without further ado, here are my 3 favorite translation posts of 2011:

1. Musical Comedy in Translation (July 2011): Being a huge musical comedy fan, a post about the difficulty of translating this genre obviously caught my interest. In fact, I could probably write quite a few posts about this subject, but I’m not sure management would approve!

2. Place names have translations too (May 2011): I’ve often thought the world would be a simpler place if geographical names were standardized – but I don’t think this is about to happen.

3. Top 2011 European April Fools’ hoaxes (Guess when, 2011): I blog from France, so it was a lot of fun to report on these media April Fools’ jokes, and attempt to translate them, both culturally and linguistically!
