Language Translation – Language translation app promoted to express true love

Call me a romantic, but something doesn’t ring true about this pitch…

I suspect (read: I hope) that myLanguage’s press release entitled “myLanguage Makes Love a Universal Language this Valentine’s Day” was intended to be a bit tongue in cheek.

App Makes it Easier Than Ever to Say ‘I Love You’ In Any Language” boasts the article’s subtitle.

Yet how daunting is this task, really, given the gazillions of Internet resources available at our fingertips?

I tried a Google search for “how to say I love you in different languages,” and came up with over 5 million results in less than half a second.

Gee, that was hard.

For example, Links2love proposes language translations of the sentence “I love you” in 100 languages, compared to around 55 for myLanguage. And Links2love even includes Pig Latin’s “Iay ovlay ouyay ,” just in case that should come in handy.

But seriously, who wants a Valentine’s Day message copied straight off the Internet, or generated on the fly from a mobile app?

Wouldn’t you like your foreign valentine to at least take the time to write something more original – and run it through Google Translate?
