33 different languages now supported by Twitter
Last March we reported that Twitter had completed work to support right-to-left languages for the first time with the addition of Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew and Urdu.
In May we brought you the news that Twitter had opened its language translation center for six new languages: Catalan, Afrikaans, Ukrainian, Greek, Czech and Basque.
Then in July we learned that Twitter had added Catalan and Ukrainian to its list of available languages, bringing the total number of supported languages to 30.
Now, Twitter has announced that it has added support for three more languages: Greek, Czech and Basque, bringing the total number of languages the social media giant supports to 33.
"We'd like to thank you, our dedicated translators, who made this launch happen by requesting and supporting Twitter in your language," Twitter wrote in recent blog post. "You are the ones who help us get closer to making Twitter available around the world."
Twitter reminds its users and would be translators that they can request languages to be opened for translation through this form and fix any translation errors by visiting the Translation Center.
