Language Translation – Dictionary.com launches Spanish homepage

The provider of online word reference products has opened a new Spanish site

The popular online word reference tool Dictionary.com has set up a new Spanish channel. Designed especially for learners of the language, in the long-term it will also publish tools of interest to native Spanish-speakers.

"Research indicates Spanish is the number one foreign language our users want to explore, and therefore a natural progression for our online and eventually mobile applications," explained Shravan Goli, President of Dictionary.com, in a recent press release.

The attractive site, which can be accessed directly at spanish.dictionary.com, boasts the most complete Spanish audio pronunciation guide on the Web today, as well as other features such as Word of the Day, Phrase of the Day, and Grammar Tip of the Day.

For the moment, though, the new venture doesn’t have a lot to explore other than its 750,000 dictionary entries. But if it grows as well as its parent site, which is visited by an average of 50 million unique users a month, we can imagine that it will become… un gran éxito.
