Language translation and interpretation institute welcomes new students in Qatar

The Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) of Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar recently held an orientation event, welcoming students to its first MA program in Translation Studies (MATS).

Dr. Amal Mohamed al-Malki, TII’s executive director; Dr. Moneera al-Ghadir, director of postgraduate studies and research, and MATS faculty members were on hand for the event which included a tour of the institute’s cutting-edge facilities at its new center in the Awsaj Academy, a part of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.

TII offers a Master’s Degree in Translation Studies providing students with theoretical and practical translation competencies in the areas of business, commerce, science, technology, literature, and media.

The Institute consists of a postgraduate studies section, a research center, a language center and a professional services section. Together the sections organize a wide range of international and local events throughout the year, including many that are open to the public.
